Want to check us out?

We know that finding a church can be a scary process. There are lot of new faces and a myriad of questions that come up. That’s okay! We’re happy to take it at your pace. Here’s how we suggest you can get started.

Join us on a Sunday

This is our regular meeting time for our church family to meet. It’s a great chance to get a feel for what we’re about, meet the leaders and get to know a few new people.

Get connected

After a few Sundays, most of us start wanting to settle down and connect with a smaller group. We set up community groups that meet in homes so that you can connect on a deeper level.

Want to get even more connected? Our volunteers work in all aspects of our church helping operate our ministries, meeting with new faces and helping take care of familiar ones.

Mission Hill Church Update

Mission Hill Church Update

For some reason, it feels like we have been meeting for much longer than three weeks – maybe that’s what happens when you’re eagerly anticipating something for so long. It might also be that, for such a relatively short period of time, there have been so many stories to share (and I’m not tired of sharing them yet). So, here are a few updates to encourage you, and (hopefully) bring us to the front of your mind to ask that you would be mindful to pray for Mission Hill Church and our church family. Serving We’ve had two awesome opportunities to serve our community, which have been greatly appreciated (it’s also been a joy to serve alongside one another in our new home). Even with a handful of passionate volunteers, Mission Hill has made a splash in the community. In many ways, it feels like God sent us to love a community that everyone else forgot – we’re grateful for tangible  ways to show Christ’s love to our new community. It’s amazing how quickly the community association feels like home, and how meeting in a public space has opened up new partnerships, serving opportunities, and perspectives of church. Church Family We wanted to provide a season to acclimatize to our new community, so we have been doing a series (“Family of God”) in order to unpack what it means to be a church family. We look forward to capping the series off on November 29 with a Family Life Sunday (Baptisms, Child Dedications, and Stories) and a Potluck – ‘nothing better than a potluck.’ Prayer I cannot stop sharing just how evident God’s leading and provision has been in bringing... read more
Remembrance Day Reflections

Remembrance Day Reflections

At this time of year, a lot of what we are doing with the children is shaped by Remembrance Day. As adults we are very aware of the conflict that so much of the world is experiencing. We have focused on the freedom that our country enjoys because of the men and women who were willing to protect us from oppression. While we don’t spend a lot of time on the cost of freedom with the children, as adults we realize that for many young men and women, the cost was very high. It was their lives.

You could say something like, “Dear God, You have great plans for (name of your child). Help him or her to do what You say and trust Your plan for her life. Things might not always the way he or she wants them to but we know that you will use it for good, just like you did with Joseph. Thank You for loving us. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.” K –... read more
