We offer a mix of volunteer and paid internships. Our paid internships are reserved for students in school for future vocational ministry.
Our goal is to provide a safe ministry environment where interns can grow and gain practical experience in a church setting.
Internships run for 8 months (Sept - Apr).
Weekly commitments and hours range depending on your area of ministry and availability.

Serving
Every intern will serve in a ministry area and will work closely with the ministry area leader (typically a staff member at MTC).
Each intern will progressively gain more responsibility as the year progresses. These are the ministry areas available:
tech & worship, kids ministry, youth ministry, MTC Nights, or small groups
In addition to serving in a ministry area, each intern will be assigned a passage in the Fall and in February will have the opportunity to preach a short 15 minute sermon to our staff team.
Training to be provided prior to your preaching date.

Growing
It is critical that you grow as a leader and as a follower of Jesus during your internship at MTC.
In fact, this is the MOST IMPORTANT PART of our internship! Here are a few ways we structure the internship so that you can grow and develop.
Mentorship. You will be assigned a mentor from the MTC Church Community that will meet with you regularly (at least 4-6 x during the internship).
Training. Pastor Trevor will meet with the interns 2 x a month (date/time TBD to accommodate schedules) to work through training materials provided by Power to Change.
Coffee, Food, & Snacks to be provided time to time!
Reading. You will have 4 books to work through during your internship. Leaders Who Last. The Prodigal God. The Explicit Gospel. Dangerous Calling.
If you have previously read one of these books we will provide an alternative. *books provided at no cost to you*

As you are serving and growing, we want to provide some bonding experiences during your internship.
*there is not cost to you for any experiences*

Spring Experience. Everyone will be invited to an overnight Prayer Retreat at Kingsfold. Kingsfold is a prayer retreat centre located NW of Cochrane.
The goal for this time away is to give interns the chance to have the space to meet with Jesus and to grow closer to him. To be guided by Pastor Trevor.

We have spots open for our volunteer internships. Our volunteer interns need to have completed high school (or be university aged).
